This spread was inspired by an unhealthy dairy chocolate hazelnut spread I got to eat sometime as a child, this Chocolate Hazelnut Spread is so much better 😉 and is free of animal products! I didn’t feel guilty eating it by the spoonful ;-p
Use organic, fair-trade/local ingredients where possible =)
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees fanbake
Put 1/3 of a cup of raw hazelnuts onto a baking tray and roast them for about 10-15 minutes (keep your eye on them you don’t want them to burn!)
Let them cool, then it should be easy to rub the skins of the nuts.
Put the nuts into a food processor/blender and pulse into a powder
Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa
A pinch salt and pulse, then add:
4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) of coconut cream
2 tablespoons of icing sugar/raw cane sugar or coconut sugar, depending on your preference! (you can use more or less depending on how sweet you want it to be)
Blend until smooth, eat it by the spoonful, put it on top of your favourite vegan ice-cream or spread it of toast.
